“Alas!,” said the mouse, “The World is growing smaller everyday. At first it was so wide that I was afraid. I ran and was glad when at last I saw in the distance walls to the right and left; but these long walls are hurrying so quickly towards one another that I am already in the last room, and there in the corner stands the trap into which I am running.” “You have only to change direction,” said the cat – ate it up.
-From ‘A Little Fable’ by Franz Kafka

The meaning here is Universal. Everyone’s life starts with hopes and expectations. Gradually, experience tells most of us that we have a more limited path to follow. As we progress, we find – no matter what route we take or what advice we follow or ignore – that we all reach the same end.
Which same end?,  “Death” …!!!
You see, as a teenager people will of course question me, that why I think about death, when my life have just started. Well, we must know that “Life is unpredictable”, whether you live in a metropolitan city of US or in a village of some third World country.  Everyone has to die, in one way or another. Some die of hunger or thirst, some die with any fatal kind of disease while others with stress or tension … Though many die of any other reason …!!!
Death is indeed inevitable but have you ever thought, WHY DO WE DIE???
The reason, which an amateur person like me found is that “This life has a PURPOSE and we are sent here, for a REASON. And if we complete our life purposefully with the knowledge of reason, then of course we need not to fear the death but we must fear what kind of and how much deeds are we taking with our soul, to stand in front of Allah [The Creator of Heavens and Earth], on the Day of Judgement.”

"How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you to life, and then to Him you will be returned."
[Surah Baqarah : verse no. 28] Al Qur'an

Thus proved from this verse, that The Creator created us and Only He has the power to take our lives back. Which also proves, that WE ARE NOTHING AS COMPARED TO HIM AND OUR LIFE IS INDEED UNPREDICTABLE ...!!! And after death, we will indeed be resurrected, to give our account.

They indeed are losers who denied their Meeting with Allah until all of a sudden, the Hour (signs of death) is on them, and they say: "Alas for us that we gave no thought to it," while they will bear their burdens on their backs; and evil indeed are the burdens that they will bear!
[Surah Al-'An'am : verse no. 31]Al Qur’an

You see, we get only one chance and this is the time we must utilize our strengths and efforts, for Allah and His deen. Though many will question, that why spend time for good deeds, when the system itself is corrupted and why spend such precious years of life for religion, when normally youth enjoy and have fun time and we will have old age to do, all those religious stuff. Well, I am NOT saying you to stop enjoying or having fun but we must know, everything have limits and so does our enjoyments. And the second thing is that if you are restricting old age for religious duties, then you are MISTAKEN. Because when you are old, you don’t have strength to be regular, or active. You also lose independence and who knows, whether you will survive that long or not.

And continue worshiping thy Lord till death comes to you.
[Surah Al-Hijr: verse no. 99]Al Qur’an

If  you aren’t clear till now, that what’s the purpose of your life, then read the given verse again.
Yes! The reason why you are sent here, is to worship Allah. But you should also know that worshipping is NOT restricted to Salah or Saum only. In it’s broader sense, it means to do those acts, which pleases Allah, like trying hard to get good education to teach those who can’t enjoy this blessing, becoming an active member of society, helping the poor and hungry, getting informed and keeping others updated, so that they won’t find any difficulty to make decisions, trying your best to follow the teachings of Qur’an in your daily routine, even participating in cleaning your street and etc. So there is a lot you can do. Right now, you need that will and push …!!! And stop making EXCUSES as well …!!!

And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the Hereafter for those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2). Will you not then understand?
[Surah Al-'An'am : verse no. 32]Al Qur’an

We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for a (mere) play.
[Surah Al-'Anbya: verse no. 16]Al Qur’an

Those who remember Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created this without purpose, glory to You! Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.
[Surah 'Ale Imran : verse no. 191] Al Qur’an  *Ameen*

We all have hopes and expectations in the early phase of life and that’s very natural. In fact I would suggest you to have dreams and hopes till the end of your life, so that you have a reason behind every action. But don’t get so much involved in your dreams, that you forget the real purpose of your life – That is to Worship Allah and work according to His will. In fact, you need to have everything WITH BALANCE  …!!!
